How to transfer your domain names to us

Guide to Domain Transfers

Transferring your domain to OffshoreDomains.com is a straightforward process that ensures you have control and management of all your domains in one convenient location. Follow these steps to initiate a domain transfer:

Check Domain Availability:

  • Visit the OffshoreDomains.com website and navigate to the domain registration page.
  • In the "Check Availability" box, input your domain name.
  • Instead of clicking on the "Check Availability" button, click on the "Transfer" button beside it. This action initiates a search to see if your domain is registered and can be transferred to us.

Prepare Your Domain for Transfer:

  • Ensure your domain is in an unlocked status at your current domain provider. This step is crucial for a successful transfer.
  • Verify that your domain(s) has not been registered or transferred within the last 60 days. This waiting period is a requirement by all registries, not just OffshoreDomains.com. If your domain hasn't passed the 60-day mark, it cannot be transferred.
    • Note: If you attempt to transfer a domain without meeting the 60-day waiting period, refunds will not be issued. Instead, funds will be provided as a credit balance.

Provide Domain Authorization Code:

  • After initiating the transfer process, you will be directed to the next page where you'll need to input your domain's authorization transfer code (EPP code). This code is required to validate the transfer request.

Proceed to Checkout and Payment:

  • Once you've met the necessary conditions and the 60-day waiting period has passed, and your domain transfer lock is in an unlocked status, proceed to checkout and payment.
  • Make the payment for the domain transfer. The transfer fee includes an extension of your domain's registration period for one additional year.

Approval and Transfer Process:

  • After payment, the domain transfer process begins. It may take up to 5 days or longer, depending on your current domain provider. They must approve the transfer request.
  • Typically, domain providers send an email confirmation requesting your approval to transfer the domain to OffshoreDomains.com. If you receive such an email, follow the provided instructions to confirm the transfer.
  • If your current domain provider does not take any action within the specified time frame, the system will automatically approve the transfer on the 5th day without any additional steps required from them or us.

By following these steps, you can seamlessly transfer your domain to OffshoreDomains.com and enjoy the benefits of consolidated domain management and excellent service. If you encounter any issues during the transfer process, our support team is available to assist you at any step of the way.
